Fernando Torres completed his British record £50million move to Chelsea on Monday night at the end of a day in which the Barclays Premier League went cash crazy.
Liverpool went straight out and re-invested the fee they got for the Spaniard by buying two strikers, paying £35m for Newcastle's England forward Andy Carroll and completing the £22.8m capture of Luis Suarez on a five-and-a-half year deal.
